The Perky Pekes Hall of Fame
Here are some of the great pekes of the world who stood the test of time. They've lived longer than most pets (and Methuselah), to truly become the reigning peke slave masters of the world. And this hall is a testament to their longevity.
To get in the Perky Pekes Hall of Fame, your peke must be 10 years of age or over ***or*** like in a few pekes' cases, must be a very special peke of extraordinary value who beat the odds (like Poundcake & Lee Toi, who fits both qualifications). If you want to showcase your perky peke here, send your peke's name, a pic of your peke (in jpeg format please), and a short bio on why they're such a special dog to... yasminduran@netzero.net . Now onto the Perky Pekes Hall of Fame!

Poundcake (????
- August 1, 2000) No one is quite sure how old he really was. Poundcake's story began rather sadly, as a horribly mistreated peke (who was later rescued), and ended on a bittersweet note, having had only a short, but wonderful time to enjoy the loving family he finally found before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Rather than go into all of it here, you can read his story at Pound Cake's World of Love. |

Koko (1980 -
2000) Yes, a peke that was 20 years old and still going like an Energizer bunny, folks! Koko is the true essence of peke longevity, not to mention one of the most adorable pekes you ever saw (then again, what peke isn't?). Sadly, he died a few months short of his 21st birthday, but he's still one of the longest-lived pekes I've ever run across. |

Muk Muk (1984 -
June 21st, 2000) A bio is forthcoming on Muk Muk, but needless to say he was a special 16-year-old peke Angy loved very much, before he crossed the rainbow bridge in June.

Phoebe Hunumani
(1982 - 1996) Phoebe was born in 1982 and passed in 1996 on Mothers Day of heart failure. She was my first Peke and a parti girl that weighed in at 10 pounds with an attitude! Just by her expression in this pic you can tell she understood everything you where saying. Webmistress's own personal note: I also think that expression on Phoebe's face says quite simply, "I'm a PEKE!" (with the pekey attitude to go with it) |

Pu Chi Tu
(August 27, 1987 - July 10, 2001) Pu Chi has always been an extraordinary dog. She's the only peke I've had to live as long has she has, and therefore is the inspiration for the Perky Pekes Hall of Fame. She's about the friendliest little fuzzball I've ever had. Where my other two dogs would bark it up, PuChi would always go up to nearly every stranger and wag her plumy tail (which looked like a skunk tail since she had a streak of white running up it) and have a friendly yip. |

Ty-ne T-na Tu
(1986-1998) T-na was deeply and forever loved by Bern, Sue and Pam Bricker. Sue asked that a poem be put in place of T-na's peke bio: "They
say that memories are golden |

Keri Soo
(1976-1991) In 1976 we bought a new home in Huntington Beach, CA, we had four human children but no furry ones. For Christmas that year my husband came home with a surprise for me - yep you guessed it a little black bundle of Pekey fur and it was a little girl. She was soooo tiny and so adorable that I named her Keri-Soo (Keri means little black one) and the name suited her to a T. Keri settled right in to her new life with us and as years went by and our children went out into the world Keri was always there with us. As Keri became older, nature started playing it's games with her health, but with great vet care and such a determination to get well she just kept on going. In 1989 we retired to Palm Springs,CA and brought our precious Keri along to enjoy the joys of retirement. Keri enjoyed her life with us but in 1991 I guess a new angel was needed in Heaven and Keri made the trip to the beautiful Rainbow Bridge. She was with us almost 15 years and each day of those years she was loved so dearly and gave us so much love and joy in return. |

Andy Woo (1980 -
1995) Another special peke deeply and forever loved by Bern, Sue and Pam Bricker. "I
think God saw how much trouble we go through sometimes, seemingly
alone, and he took a large does of His unconditional love, wrapped it in a
bit of silky fur, put a couple of adoring eyes on it, added a cute little
button nose, a tongue for wet kisses and a waggy little tail. He
made it big enought to cuddle and not so big that it would overwhelm even
the smallest child. Then He breathed His Breath of life into it,
sent it down with His angels and gave it to the world so that we would
always have a little of Him around to remind us that we are loved." |

Cook's Gem Dandy
(1989 - present) A few words from Joann on what a lifesaver of a peke Dandy is: When he was just a puppy, my husband and I had just moved to a new house. Their was a problem with the heating unit in the house. Dandy woke us up in the middle of the night. The house was full of smoke. I am convinced he saved our lives. |

Tien Kuan Lin
(Lin) This is my super baby right here. I got her as a reward for high marks in school during one high school quarter in 1990. Lin has never ceased to bring me joy with her pekey antics. 11 years old and she still behaves and plays like a puppy. Nor has she ceased to lay the guilt trip on me with that sad "what did I do now?" look she's so famous for. But I'd never trade her for the world (though I miss all the pekey babies I grew up with since they're back in Oklahoma). |
